About the Author

Divy (Divyansh) is an epic fantasy author inspired by mythology, history, and emotionally driven storytelling. His stories blend large-scale fantasy worldbuilding, mythological undertones and long-form narrative arcs. The stories he tells balance emotionally intimate character relationships with large-scale fantasy conflicts, political systems, mythic lore, and philosophical themes surrounding compassion versus domination, faith versus control, and truth versus suppression. Through his work, he explores what humans truly need to survive — not power. Not destiny. But the bonds that they form with each other and the faith that keeps them moving even when the world gives them no reason to.

Who I am

I am a fantasy author, lifelong reader, and a professional working in the corporate world. My love for stories extends beyond books and into history, mythology, philosophy, and the study of how people, societies, and beliefs shape one another.
Outside of writing, I enjoy exploring mythology, reading diverse genres with fantasy being my favorite, and learning about the ideas, philosophies and systems that influence human behaviour and civilizations.
Writing Veilbound began as a passion project and gradually became something much more meaningful—a way to explore the questions and themes that have fascinated me for years.

Why I Write

I have always loved stories, and fantasy has long been my favourite genre. Series such as The Inheritance Cycle, The Lord of the Rings, along with manga stories such as One Piece, showed me that fantasy can be far more than escapism. They revealed that dragons, distant kingdoms, and grand adventures can also be stories about friendship, hope, sacrifice, and what it means to be human.
I did not begin writing with the intention of being published. I began writing because there was a story I wanted to tell.
Through fantasy, I explore questions that have always fascinated me: What makes a family? What does it truly mean to belong? Why do hope and faith matter? Is courage simply the absence of fear, or the decision to move forward despite it — or perhaps something deeper? Why is knowledge so important, and why do those in power so often seek to control it and shape their own truths and narrative?
Few themes resonate with me more deeply than found family and the idea that home is not a place, but the people who choose to stand beside you.
At its heart, my writing is about people, their relationships, and the bonds that give life meaning. If my stories can make someone feel seen, give them hope, or remind them of the bonds that make us human — and stay with them long after the final page, then I believe they have achieved something worthwhile.

My Inspirations

Stories have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, from Aesop’s fables and Jataka tales to Marvel and DC comics, and the various classic books that have shaped human civilization such as War and Peace, To kill a Mockingbird, Ivanhoe, A Tale of Two Cities, Crime and Punishment, and countless others.
Fantasy quickly became the genre that felt most like home.

The first series that truly introduced me to epic fantasy was The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. Through Eragon’s journey, I discovered dragons, adventure, and the sense of wonder that comes from stepping into a completely different world. It was one of the works that made me fall in love with fantasy and inspired me to imagine worlds and stories of my own.

Another major influence on me was the anime Digimon Adventure. Beyond its adventures and battles, it taught me the importance of friendship, courage, sacrifice, and the bonds the chosen children formed with their partners. Even today, I deeply admire its ability to tell emotionally resonant stories while exploring themes of growth, responsibility, and companionship.

And then there is One Piece, which, in my personal opinion, is one of the greatest stories ever written. Its immense worldbuilding, unforgettable characters, emotional storytelling, and ability to communicate profound themes through seemingly simple adventures continue to inspire me as both a reader and a writer. It is a story that constantly reminds me of the power of will, freedom, friendship, inherited dreams, and the importance of standing by the people you love.

Beyond fiction, I have also been deeply inspired by mythology, history, and philosophy. In particular, the Mahabharata has profoundly influenced me with its exploration of duty and dignity, the cost of victory, the burdens of karma, and the often-complex relationship between justice and righteousness. I have also enjoyed learning about Greek mythology, with its tragic heroes, flawed gods, and timeless stories that continue to shape storytelling across cultures.

I have also found inspiration in the teachings and wisdom found across different traditions, including the Buddha’s teaching of middle path and the Bible’s message of compassion, love, and treating one another as brothers and sisters.

Across cultures and civilizations, stories often return to the same timeless questions: What is right? What do we owe one another? What makes us human? And what gives our lives meaning?
Its these questions and the many different answers offered by books and stories across cultures, civilizations, and time periods that continue to inspire my writing.

Beyond Writing

I enjoy pursuing a wide range of interests that continue to inspire and challenge me in different ways.

By profession, I work in the corporate sector and hold degrees in Engineering and a Masters in Global Business. Balancing a corporate career alongside writing has taught me the value of discipline, perseverance, and the importance of continuing to pursue the things that bring meaning and joy to our lives.

I am an avid cricket fan and hold the legendary Sachin Tendulkar in deep admiration, not only for his extraordinary achievements on the field but also for the humility, discipline, and grace with which he carried himself throughout his career.

I also have a love for travel and enjoy experiencing new places, cultures, and perspectives. Every journey, whether near or far, offers a chance to learn something new and see the world through a different lens.

Another passion of mine is anime. Despite balancing a full-time corporate career and writing, I still try to make time to keep up with seasonal releases and discover new stories. I continue to be fascinated by the medium’s ability to tell deeply human stories by blending imagination, emotion, and powerful themes in ways that resonate with audiences across the world.

At the end of the day, whether through sports, travel, anime, or storytelling, I remain someone who is endlessly curious about the world and grateful for the many experiences and ideas that continue to shape my journey.

Acknowledgements

No story is ever written alone.
I have been immensely fortunate enough to have people in my life who encouraged my love for stories and supported my decision to pursue writing alongside a full-time career.

I am deeply grateful to my parents, who always encouraged me to read, learn, and follow my passions. Their support and valuable advice helped me balance my corporate responsibilities with my passion for writing. Their faith in me made this journey possible.

I am also thankful to my close friends, whose encouragement, conversations, and belief in this project helped me keep writing even during the busiest and most difficult periods.

A special thanks goes to my aunt for sharing her poetry with me and being a constant encouragement to keep writing and creating new stories has meant more to me than words can express. I am equally inspired by one of my uncle’s decision to follow his own passion and build a start-up of his own, a reminder that it is essential to pursue the things that matter to us.
